Billing and Trust Account Policies

Monthly Invoicing:

You will receive a detailed invoice by email each month, reflecting time spent on your matter and any costs advanced on your behalf.

Payment from Trust:

Invoices are paid by transferring funds from your trust account to the firm’s operating account.

Trust Account Minimum:

Clients must maintain a minimum trust balance of $3,500. If your balance falls below this amount, you will be asked to replenish it to cover the latest invoice and restore the minimum.

Thirty days prior to trial, you will be asked to make an additional deposit to maintain a minimum trust balance of $25,000.

Nonpayment Policy:

If your invoice remains unpaid by the 30th of the month, the firm will pay the invoice from your trust account. If this occurs, Hansing Legal reserves the right to withdraw from your case. Any unpaid balance is due immediately.

Finance Charges:

Past-due balances over 30 days are subject to a 12% annual finance charge and may be referred to collections.

Refund of Trust Funds:

At the conclusion of your case, any remaining trust balance will be refunded to you after the final invoice is satisfied.

Client specific terms will be outlined in the fee agreement (which supersedes the information provided here.)
